INSPIRATION: The
man in the quilt is “embedded” in the
piece suggesting than man embraces all
that he owns and has created by his
efforts. He is grounded and content. He
is surrounded on one side by houses, on
the other side by women.
The bird in the bottom border takes
flight.
The man can be interpreted in the larger
sense of Man with the red color
symbolizing physical life force and
individual will. This quilt is all about
vitality, energy, and creation of one’s
own world.
This piece won honorable mention in the
2004 Arizona Emerging Artist competition
and was featured in the Duley-Jones
Gallery in Scottsdale. |
