INSPIRATION: Upon seeing this traditional quilting pattern, I was intrigued with the challenge of blending  many non-traditional colours and patterns together to create a piece that would remain respectful of the original design but create a new vitality.  Although I prefer to work  with many pieces, in my own designs this preset repeat pattern presented a challenge; Would it work? You be the judge.  Strong, yet calm with a sense of sophisticated dignity, the piece is welcoming and warm.

DESCRIPTION:  Five (5) sided stars created from twenty-two (22) different fabrics of Kona cotton, Indonesian batiks, metallic, West African prints, tie-dyed and more.  This multi- cut and pieced work is lively and comforting at the same time.
