Earth Fiber Artist is an artist
cooperative with a growing number of artists who draw their inspiration from the
wonders of nature and a great respect for the indigenous peoples of our planet.
We harbor
the belief that everything we need, can and is found
in nature. As an example, how many times has it been
said upon gazing at a beautiful sunset that it is
picture perfect. Well, we believe that the photo is
nature perfect, or close to it.
Earth Fiber
Artist maintains a humbling respect for the gifts
left to us by our ancestors. As “modern” peoples we
in many cases have moved away from the undeniable
connection we have with our planet, contrary to our
ancestral beliefs. The earth provides for its
people and its people must care, nurture, and provide
for it.
Our use of
natural materials, imagery from nature added to our
creative talents, makes up the foundation for the
works we present to you.

Kay
Beck Benton is a scientist who enjoys using her
scientific precision in the development of her fiber
creations.
"I get a great deal of
satisfaction from working with and learning from the
complexities of fabric. I also enjoy creating
pieces that have the potential for creating precious
family memories." Kay sees the value of having
a piece that adds not only warmth to a home but
artistic flair that displays the personality of
those who dwell within. "There is so much
detail to creating a quilt and drawing on my
training in the science's gives me a certain edge in
tackling just about any complicated pattern."

strength, power, and sophistication.
